Employment Social Enterprise (ESE)
Our ESE initiative connects over 900 individuals with job prospects in 25 different industries through our network of over 165 employment partners. Participants benefit from on-the-job training and essential services such as transportation, and childcare, strategically designed to overcome obstacles to meaningful employment
Job Readiness
We provide job training, employment readiness workshops, monthly financial literacy classes, computer skills, and certifications, enabling progress toward living-wage careers. Our employment readiness program also features a new cohort model, RISE.
RISE (Roadmap to Independent and Sustainable Employment): RISE provides employment preparedness training in a cohort model that fosters a sense of community and encourages peer to peer learning and support over the course of four weeks of training. Each participant receives digital skills training and employment readiness support through group instruction, as well as a personalized Individual Achievement Plan and individual career counseling.

Every individual seeking assistance through Uplift Northwest gains access to a wide array of services including assistance seeking emergency shelter and housing, eye care, meals, showers, hygiene supplies, case management, and support through our network of community partners. Our aim is to provide integrated and impactfulsupport services that foster personal growth, financial stability, and community engagement.
Workforce Empowerment Collective
At Uplift Northwest, we believe that empowering individuals through workforce development is essential to ending homelessness. This requires a united, cross-sector effort. As a community hub, we convene allied service providers, local businesses, government leaders, and community institutions to collaborate on innovative ideas. Together, we cultivate a cohesive service network that not only addresses immediate needs but also builds pathways to economic stability, preventing the conditions that lead to homelessness and fostering a stronger, more equitable community.
How housing and employment support build pathways out of poverty
Josh was thrown out of his home at age 17, with no place to go and no family or friends for support. He wound up living on the streets, using drugs and committing petty crimes for nearly three decades. “I was bouncing around the country, lost,” Josh says. “Just surviving on the streets is a job in itself.”
A holistic approach to job training helps rebuild lives
“Programs that neglect emotional intelligence or collaboration skills, for instance, often leave participants unprepared for workplace dynamics,” says Lisa Sato, employment case manager at Uplift Northwest. (Uplift Northwest)
