LITTER ABATEMENT SERVICES
In partnership with Ballard Alliance and King County Roads Services Division, Uplift Northwest dispatches teams to address:
STREET CLEANING AND LITTER REMOVAL
Workers are employed to clean up public spaces, parks, streets, and sidewalks by picking up litter and ensuring that these areas remain safe and clean for the community.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
This program supports Seattle’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability and maintain public health standards by reducing waste in urban areas.
JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT
Workers involved in this program receive training and gain valuable work experience, helping them transition to more permanent employment.
Mobile Hygiene Units
In partnership with Seattle Public Utilities, Uplift Northwest staffs and manages mobile hygiene units, this initiative focuses on:
Mobile Showers
The units are equipped with showers and restrooms, offering unhoused individuals access to essential hygiene services.
Outreach and Support Services
Beyond just hygiene, the program offers a point of contact for individuals to access additional support, including housing resources, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
Workforce Development
Uplift Northwest employs people from marginalized backgrounds to staff and operate these units, providing them with jobs and experience, while also addressing a critical need within the community.
